What information is needed for selection?

Specify the electrical system and the physical connection requirements together. A three-phase oil-immersed pad-mounted transformer must fit the intended network and installation layout; matching kVA and voltage alone is not sufficient.

• Electrical ratings: capacity, primary and secondary voltages, frequency, vector group and neutral arrangement.
• System requirements: impedance, insulation level or BIL, taps, load profile and applicable loss or efficiency limits.
• Cable interfaces: radial or loop feed, terminal arrangement, connector requirements and cable-entry layout.
• Equipment scope: protection, switching, monitoring and accessories required by the project.

How is this different from a pole-mounted transformer?

The installation and connection arrangements differ: a pad-mounted transformer is installed at ground level, while a pole-mounted design is intended for an elevated support arrangement. Choose according to the network design, cable routing, site access and utility requirements.

Should I specify radial feed or loop feed?

Use the feed arrangement required by the approved network design. Radial and loop arrangements affect the primary connections and equipment layout. Provide the single-line diagram and required switching arrangement so these interfaces can be checked.

Are dead-front connections included?

Do not assume the terminal configuration from the product name or cabinet image. State the required live-front or dead-front arrangement, connector interface and ratings. Availability and compatibility must be confirmed for the proposed transformer.

What capacity and voltage combinations can I request?

Send the required kVA, primary voltage, secondary voltage and frequency, together with the load profile. HEAKOR will need to review the requested combination before confirming a model. This page does not establish that every capacity and voltage combination is available.

Does the product name prove utility approval?

No. A three-phase oil-immersed pad-mounted transformer must be assessed against the destination's product standards, efficiency requirements, certification or listing requirements and utility specification. Identify mandatory approvals and documents at the enquiry stage.

What should I check when replacing an existing unit?

Provide the nameplate, foundation and cable-entry drawings, terminal details and available working space. Identify any changes to the load or protection arrangement. The replacement must match both the electrical requirements and installation interfaces.
